October Theme: Power to the People

October 6, 2024 Power Begins Within” Meditation Sunday – Mar’s Gutierrez

October 13, 2024 “Our Personal Power” David McCloud RScP and Ministerial Student

October 20, 2024 “Power Together” Diana Sandlin – Core Counsel & Lay Member in Service

October 27, 2024 “Power to Create a World That Works for Everyone” Spiritual Leader – Reverend Beth Warren

Theme: Engaging, Embracing and Empowering Life

Last month, we talked about “Returning Home” … home to the Source of All Good. This month, we build on that work by fully Engaging life (lower case “l,” meaning this human experience), by deeply Embracing Life (upper case “L”, meaning the Greater Life; the Life of God), and by Empowering our life/Life. And when we do that, it will lead to an extraordinary experience of life/Life.

October 2, 2022 – “Aligning with Life (upper case “L”)”

Who we are and the power we wield is extraordinary, perhaps even beyond our comprehension. But even if we can’t fully comprehend it, we can align with it and use it. We just have to know what supports our alignment and what doesn’t. Today, we make that distinction very clear.

October 9, 2022 – “The Heat Is On”

This title is not referring to the Glenn Frey song of the mid-1980s nor is it referring to the heat of the summer that has just passed. Rather, it refers to the Truth of the heat, the fire, the passion of Spirit living as you and ready to be ignited at any minute if you would but flick the switch by engaging, embracing, and empowering life! Are you ready to get the heat on in your life?

October 16, 2022 – Easter Sunday, “Awakening to Love in Action”

Oftentimes, our shadows from the past – the hurts and wounds from others or our own missteps and errors – haunt us in the present, preventing us from fully engaging in and embracing and empowering life. Today, we gather to reconcile the past, thereby making peace with it and putting it where it belongs once and for all.

October 23, 2022 – “What is Ours to Do in life (lower case “l”)”

Today we get a road map of specifically and precisely what is ours to do and what is Life’s to do, as this is a key component in deliberately engaging, embracing, and empowering an extraordinary life. Spoiler alert: The road map might not look exactly like you think it will!

October 30, 2022 – “Engaging and Empowering”

In Star Trek’s “Next Generation,” how often did Captain Jean-Luc Picard say to Data: “Engage”? The answer: Every time the Starship Enterprise was bound for a new adventure. We must do the same. Each time we choose to fully embrace Life, we must first engage, and then we must empower ourselves through that occasional course correction. So, today, we embrace, engage, and empower so that we reach the destination of our extraordinary life!

Theme: “Love in Action”

Mother Theresa said, “Love cannot remain by itself – it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action, and that action is service.” Sacred service is a very powerful and mysterious practice. Through sacred service, we immerse ourselves in the flow of life which brings about our own spiritual and personal transformation. Sacred service is a gift we give to ourselves, and others just so happen to benefit in the process! In Eastern traditions, this is called Seva. This month, we will explore the power of Love in Action — the power of Seva – wrapping into our month the selfless act of Seva that our Master Teacher Jesus brought to the world as we honor and celebrate Palm Sunday and Easter.

April 3, 2022 – “Loving Love in Action”

Sometimes, when we hear about service, our defenses rise as feelings of obligation or burden bubble up inside of us. Or, we automatically think service is another scheme spiritual leaders have cooked up to help support their spiritual communities! But, there are deep and rich personal reasons to engage in sacred service (Seva) and today we look at those reasons as we cultivate loving Love in Action.

April 10, 2022 – Palm Sunday, “Love in Action”

Today, as we set the stage for Easter, we explore living Love in Action as it relates to living in service to life, to one another and to Mother Earth.

April 17, 2022 – Easter Sunday, “Awakening to Love in Action”

On this very special and sacred Easter morning, we awaken our hearts and our minds to move into the realm of Christ Consciousness – the consciousness of the one who is awakened to his or her unique and perfect Divinity and recognizes the power of Love in Action. Today, we arise in the holy Truth of our Beingness and from there, we soar into our infinite possibilities as God Beings on earth!

April 24, 2022 – “Celebrating Love in Action”

Today, any and all thoughts of obligation, commitment or burden are removed from the idea of Seva as we celebrate Love in Action through a joyful ritual together.

Theme: “Bridging the Gap”

Our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote: “Let us feel that our purposes are animated and inspired from on high and then let us go forth and make our dream come true in human experience.” These are inspiring words but accomplishing this requires bridging the gap between incubating the idea and manifesting the dream. Sometimes that gap can be scary, and yet what we do inside it can make all the difference in the world. This month we learn how to bridge that gap.

March 6, 2022 ~ “Taking the Leap of Faith”

What dream has been nudging at your heart that hasn’t yet been put in the incubator? And if it hasn’t been put there, why not? Chances are the answer involves fear in one of its many forms, shapes or sizes. On this day, we will join hands and support one another in taking the leap together regardless of our fears!

March 13, 2022 ~ “Building the Bridge”

To build the bridge between the dreams of our hearts and their manifestation, we must learn how to use some very specific tools – and then we must actually use them! Over the next few weeks, we will explore the various tools to have in our ‘navigating the gap’ toolkit.

March 20, 2022 ~ “Half Way Across the Bridge”

It may feel as if you are building the bridge to your dreams while you are walking across it. If so, that’s OK. By using the tools learned last week, this week, and next week, we will keep the bridge at least two steps ahead of us.

March 27, 2022 ~ “Reaching the Other Side”

Today, we will explore our final tools for building our bridge and learn how, when properly and consistently applied, these tools really do bridge the gap between incubation and manifestation of our dreams. They really do get us to the other side!

Theme: “Bursting Into the Future”

What is your next level of becoming? Are you feeling the Divine Urge from within to express a fuller, freer, more expanded version of yourself? Are you wanting to have a deeper experience of letting God be God in you? If so, this is the place to be each week in October as we nurture and support you bursting into your next level of becoming!

October 4: “Embarking on a Grand Experiment”

If you experimented with becoming a fuller, freer, more expanded version of yourself, what would that experiment look like? Today, we look at three ingredients needed to conduct the experiment.

October 11: “You Can’t Get There From Here”

At the level of energy at which we currently vibrate, we cannot become the expanded version of ourselves that we desire to burst into. But there is a way we can “get there” with ease and joy. Find out how today.

October 18: “Becoming a Person of Increase”

A person of increase is one who brings great value to everything he or she does. A person of increase is one who sees expanded possibilities at every turn. A person of increase is one who lives in love and gratitude. And person of increase is one who experiences increase in all areas of life. Today, become a person of increase.

October 25: “Desire & Discontent – Your Roadmap for Expansion” (David McCloud, RScP)

When we drive on the freeway, the lines on either side of the car help us navigate safely down the road. Our desires and places of discontent within us serve the same function as we navigate our way into our next becoming. When we listen to them both, we will most certainly ease on down the road!

Theme: Reconnecting and Updating ~ A New Normal

August 3 – “Four Qualities of a (Redefined) Successful Life”

In her 2014 book, “Thrive,” media mogul Arianna Huffington lays out four specific qualities that help us deepen into what it means to be successful. These qualities could come straight out of our spiritual teachings, but are presented to the secular world. How encouraging it is to see these ideas presented in this way, and you get to experience them today with a twist or two added.

August 10 – “A Prosperity Treasure Hunt”

“Prosperity,” written by Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore, was originally published in 1936 and even though some of the language is a bit outdated, the principles and practices in it are some of my favorites for living inside a prosperity consciousness.

August 17 – “Harnessing the Power of Love”

“Inside-Out Healing” by Richard Moss is our third book for review this month. In a brief exploration of this rich and empowering book, we will harness the Power of the Presence of Divine Love as a way to heal whatever may be ailing you!

August 24 – “Just One”

In their 2013 New York Times #1 best seller, “The One Thing,” authors Gary Keller and Jay Papasan offer a simple, powerful concept: If you want less distractions, stress and strain and more joy, balance and abundance, you can achieve that by mastering the ONE thing. What is your ONE thing?

August 30 – “What Would You Love”

An opportunity to design your “New Normal”

Theme: “Standing Firm when your world is shaking

Welcome to Standing Firm! July 2020

This month Rev. Beth will be putting on her coaching hat to offer us a program designed to provide you with all the tools you need to travel through the rough terrains that life can offer and help you remain firm when the world around you is shaking.

Over the next four weeks, we’ll be exploring the technology of how you navigate through those times in our lives (such as now) when it may feel like the light is not shining on us, a time that is sometimes referred to as “The Dark Night.” We will discover that the Dark Night will birth the next larger version of you.

July 2020 Schedule

July 5, 2020 – “The Dark Night”

During this week, we’ll be looking at the possibilities and potentials and how we can have our circumstances without allowing them to have us. We will learn that the Dark Night experience is inevitable for us all – but it is also a time when something greater is seeking to emerge through us. We’ll learn how to harvest the good those circumstances have to teach us, and we’ll learn how to use those circumstances to create a new beginning. This week you will study the tools for navigating The Dark Night.

July 12, 2020 – “The Hero’s Journey… Our Journey”

This week we’ll explore the Hero’s Journey and all of its components. We will develop the tools for traversing through some of the tougher times of life when it may look like all is lost. We will discover some of the spiritual principles that support us in standing firm when our world is shaking, including how to build spiritual muscle, taking the long view and being called to higher ground.

July 19, 2020 – “Harvesting the Good”

This week is about harvesting the good that the challenging circumstances came to bring us. It’s about allowing our experience to take us forward rather than take us down. It’s about making sure we get the “one thing” it came to teach us. We will discover that when our world is shaking, we respond by either using it to take us forward or take us down. You will learn the tools for harvesting the good when a challenging situation comes your way.

July 26, 2020 – “An Opportunity for a New Beginning”

During the last week of Standing Firm When Your World is Shaking, we will learn that we never really complete this work because we are in the world of circumstance. The opportunity to apply the things we’ve been learning just gets more deeply ingrained in us as we move forward in life. Life sends us soft signals, if we don’t pay attention, we’re going to get some stronger signals from the Universe, to help us ultimately stay on course with our own soul pattern or life purpose. If we learn to pay attention to those soft signals, and ask ourselves some key questions, we may be able to avoid the jolt. This week we will learn how to pay attention to life’s soft signals, how to create structures of support for change, how to decide for the life you want, how to access your inner sanctuary and how to create TRUE beginnings.

Theme: “You Are Meant to Succeed”

“It is right that we should be successful, for otherwise the Spirit is not expressed. The Divine cannot lack for anything, and we should not lack for anything that makes life worthwhile here on earth.” By Ernest Holmes

As children of God we are created to express Spirit in all we do. And the scriptures tell us that it is the Father’s pleasure to give us our good… to be successful in all areas of life… our health, our relationships, our vocation, and our time and money freedom. However you define success, this month we will explore how to achieve it using Jack Canfield’s insightful and empowering book, “The Success Principles: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.”

May 2020 Schedule

May 3, 2020 – “The Foundation for Success”

Thomas Edison once said, “If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.” Today we lay the foundation for astounding ourselves by exploring Canfield’s first two principles of experiencing a successful life. These principles probably won’t be new to you, but we will look at them in a new and highly personal way. Be sure to be with us today – you just may be astounded!

May 10, 2020 – “Happy Mother’s Day”

Taking a break to honor mothers this Mother’s Day by looking at the architecture of a mother’s love.

May 17, 2020 – “Transform Yourself for Success”

Did you know that the average person has over 50,000 thoughts a day? And did you know that most of those thoughts are TO you ABOUT you and that 80% of them are negative? Those are startling statistics, aren’t they? What would your life look like if you could make 80%, 90%, even 100% of those thoughts TO you and ABOUT you positive and life affirming? If you could (and we say you can!), you just might astound yourself at what you are capable of doing. Today, you will learn a practical way to transform yourself for success.

May 24, 2020 – “Celebrate Your Success”

Today we amp up the energy of our work together by moving into the vibration of celebration, thanksgiving, and appreciation. Be prepared to expand your appreciation for yourself and others and to learn the power of “The Poker Chip Theory of Success”! Intrigued? Perfect. Come find out what it’s all about.

May 31, 2020 – “Success Starts Now”

This month we have recognized and aligned with our inner creative power to succeed, acknowledging that success is God-ordained. As we succeed, we prove the fundamental spiritual principle of our Science of Mind: There is a power for Good in this Universe, and we can use it! And there is one other thing we do when we succeed. We make a difference in this world! Join us today as we bring our theme to a close with two game-changing success principles.

Theme: “THE SACRED WALK OF RENEWAL AND RESURRECTION”

At every moment of every day, we are experiencing the results of either our conditioned-based thinking or our source-based living. This Easter Month, we will take a sacred walk into the source-based living, and each week, we will build upon the week before as we are renewed and resurrected in Spirit together.

April 2020 Schedule

April 7: “STANDING IN CHANGE”
  • The Master Teacher Jesus taught us profound lessons of Truth, the greatest of which was how to stand tall in the midst of life-altering change. This Easter month, we look to him as the prime example of one who rose anew from the most devastating change we can humanly think of, the loss of life.
APRIL 12: EASTER SUNDAY – “ARISE AND SHINE”
  • As we explore the metaphysics behind Jesus’ resurrection and ascension and look at a number of the profound teachings of this Spiritual Master, we are invited to arise and shine into our own unique Brilliance. Be sure to be with us today for a unique and utterly brilliant experience. And how about inviting a friend? Easter is a wonderful Sunday for that.
APRIL 19: “THE FLOW OF GOOD”
  • We experience our Easter Moments in many different ways. However, the rubber often meets the road when we look at our financial status vis-à-vis our spiritual beliefs about abundance. We spiritually believe that we live in an abundant universe and abundance is our spiritual birthright, yet we often struggle to make ends meet, let alone have an ongoing flow of abundant good to spend, to spare, and to share.
APRIL 26: “FEEL INTO FULFILLMENT”
  • Did you know that your emotions can tell you everything you could ever want or need to know about your relationship with the Source of All Good? In fact, they really are your guidance system. Today, we will explore the important messages that emotions can send to us and how we can use them to feel our way into fulfillment.

March 2020 Schedule

Theme: “Through Me”

In The Science of Mind textbook on page 141 and at numerous other places, Dr. Ernest Holmes states, “The Spirit can do for us only what It can do through us.” “Through Me” is the third stage of spiritual awakening after “Why Me” and “By Me.” This month, in a variety of ways, we will experience living from a “Through Me” consciousness.

Sunday, March 1, 2020 – “The Fourth Secret of Answered Prayer”
  • The final lesson of the February Theme: “On the Wings of Love Through Prayer”
Sunday, March 8 – “When I Can’t, God Can!”
  • When we are in fear and doubt, uncertainty and pain, when we can’t figure it out, God can! Turn it over, release it. Let God’s Infinite Intelligence and Divine Harmony — working through you — handle it.
  • Music: Be creative…
Sunday, March 15 – “EMPOWERING the Divine Pattern”
  • The Divine Pattern IS within. There is a divine pattern at the heart of all. Through our attention, words and energy we either empower or disempower that pattern. Each day, we get to choose that which we will build. What will it be today?
Sunday, March 22 – “Are You a Secret Agent?”
  • If you were arrested for being a Religious Scientist/New Thought follower, would there be enough eividence to convict you? Today, we focus on allowing Spirit to express THROUGH us by living the principles we teach and by being willing to share them with the world.
Sunday, March 29 – “Sacred Gardening”
  • Using the rose garden as a metaphor, we will till the soil and plant seeds of an expanded awareness of infinite possibilities for ourselves and for our world. As part of this service, we will conduct our Rose Blessing Ceremony in which anyone who desires will receive a personal blessing.

January 2020 Schedule

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living January 2020

As the calendar changes once again, we have an opportunity to begin afresh. What shall this year bring for you? Is your desire for greater joy, harmony, peace, and plenty and would you like your desires to express themselves with ease and grace? If so, join us this month as we use foundational principles of Science of Mind to set the tone for the year, both in your personal life and in the life of our spiritual community.

Sunday, January 5, 2020: “A New Design for Living”
  • How shall you design your life this year? What do you intend to create and in what kind of energy and atmosphere? On this first Sunday of the year, in this interactive service, you will have an opportunity to articulate an intention and a theme for 2020 for your own life and for SACSL.
Sunday, January 12, 2020: “Answering Life’s Call”
  • Are you answering life’s call or are you just letting the phone ring? Today choose to answer the call by “L” – Letting go of the past; “I” – Imagining a greater life; “F” – Freeing yourself to choose; and “E” – Expressing your Divinity.
Sunday, January 19, 2020: “It’s Your Life – Live It!” (Facilitated by David McCloud, RScP)
  • Dr. Robert Schuller authored a book entitled, If It’s To Be, It’s Up to Me. In it, he wrote: “The 21st century belongs first and foremost to a new mental breed of humans driven by a strong, sensitive, spiritual individualism.” The truth is, there is only one person on earth who can dream your dreams. That person is YOU! And, there is only one person alive who can kill that dream. That person is you as well! So, what shall it be?
Sunday, January 26, 2020: “A Life – and a World – at Peace”
  • January 30 marks the beginning of the Season for Non-Violence – 64 days between the anniversaries of the death of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Gandhi once said, “we must be the change we wish to see in the world.” As we conclude this series, we will look at being the change in 2020 by living a life of peace, which can lead to a world at peace.

December 2019 Schedule

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living December 2019

Theme: The Prayer of the Master

While the outside world is embroiled in the trappings of the holiday season, each week at SACSL, we will turn inward to find rich and deep transformative meaning in one of the most well-known and oft-cited prayers in human history – the prayer taught by the man whose birth we celebrate this month. This prayer, known as “The Lord’s Prayer” or “The Our Father,” has gone through many translations and interpretations. Be sure to be with us to receive a full spectrum of the wisdom found in this prayer of the Master, and then be with us on the last two Sundays for special services.

Sunday, December 1, 2019: “Oh Thou, From Whom the Breath of Life Comes”
  • “Oh Thou, From Whom the Breath of Life Comes” is the beginning of an early translation of the Prayer of the Master. Today we explore the depth and beauty of this version, and you may find some real surprises in it! And you will most definitely find some deep wisdom for living a rich and full life today.
Sunday, December 8, 2019: “O Birther! Father – Mother of the Cosmos”
  • In this translation of the Master’s Prayer, which begins with “O Birther! Father – Mother of the Cosmos,” we find a road map for being in relationship with others as well as well as more deep, ancient wisdom applicable to our lives today.
Sunday, December 15, 2019: “Our Father, Which Art in Heaven”
  • Today we will look at the most familiar translation of the Master’s Prayer, but we will look at it in a most unfamiliar way. Come be surprised and delighted at what you experience.
Sunday, December 22, 2019: “The Gift of Christmas, the Gift of You”
  • Thus far this month, we have explored three different interpretations of Prayer of the Master and have had some deep and rich experiences. This Sunday before Christmas, we will examine how we can live these opening lines in two versions of the Prayer: “May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiness” and “Focus Your light within us – make it useful.”
Sunday, December 29, 2019: “Our Personal Prayer”
  • Today we move away from the Master’s Prayer to delve into our own personal prayer life. If you ever wanted to know the Top Ten List for creating a robust prayer life, today’s the day you will receive it. Come celebrate Sunday before New Years with us as we set the tone for a prayer-filled 2020.

November 2019 Schedule

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living November 2019

Sunday, November 3: “The Open Heart”
  • Setting the tone for traveling the way of the whole heart, we begin with the idea of the Open Heart. What does it mean to have a heart that is open? What does a closed heart look like? And, of great importance, how do we open a heart that has closed? If you are ready to have your closed heart opened or your opened heart opened even wider, today has your name written all over it!
Sunday, November 10: “The Clear Heart” (Facilitated by David McCloud, RScP)

Theme: Being the Perfect Center

Resource: “Your Invisible Power,” Genevieve Behrend
Genevieve Behrend wrote, “As you grow in understanding as to who you are, where you came from, what the purpose of your being is, and how you are to fulfill the purpose for which you are intended, you will become a more and more perfect center through which the Creative Spirit of Life can enjoy Itself.” This month, in a variety of ways, we will make these discoveries and become more and more the Perfect Centers to give the Creative Spirit of Life a real thrill!

Sunday, October 6: “Once You Say Yes, Then What?”
  • The Creative Spirit of Life is constantly calling us to find our Perfect Center by saying “yes” to greater life, greater joy, greater service, greater love and greater peace. But once we say “yes,” then what? Join us today and find out.
Sunday, October 13: “Are We Freaking Out or Finding Faith?”
  • At every moment, we have a choice of how to respond to life. But when fear hits, it often appears that we don’t make a choice at all. Rather, we automatically freak out! The truth is that even a seemingly automatic response is a choice. So how do we choose to find faith in the middle of a freak out so that we might be a more Perfect Center for the Creative Spirit of Life? That is the question of the morning, now isn’t it?
Sunday, October 20: “God’s Miracles Make Me Want to Sing!”
  • According to a paraphrased version of Genevieve Behrend’s quote from above, the more we know who and whose we are and the more we live the life we are meant to live, the more God has fun. And as we do this, the more we can see the miracles of God in, through, as, and around us! And they just might make us want to sing. In this high-energy service, we will do just that.
Sunday, October 27: “The Perfect Center Top Ten”
  • As we take our final look at our beautiful and profound theme quote from Genevieve Behrend, we will explore a Top Ten List of things to remember as we travel the road of becoming a more and more Perfect Center through which the Creative Spirit of Life can enjoy Itself. If we live by this Top Ten List, we will be well on that road, that’s for sure.

September Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living September 2019

Theme: Living From Your Power

This month we will be looking at an acronym that brings new enlightenment to living from a place of True Power. When we can realize and live from a place of Divine P.O.W.E.R., our lives seem to fall into place, our hearts are filled with joy and purpose, and our relationships are stronger and deeper. We live our dreams daily, and really become the change our hearts are yearning for. Join us this month as we create a P.O.W.E.R.-filled experience at San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living!

Sunday, September 1: “Passion and Purpose – Two Sides of the Same Coin”
  • We set the tone for this month by looking at Passion and Purpose, which are two sides of the same coin. We will explore what passion looks like in our lives and learn new ways to activate it to live with a purpose. When we are living our passion and purpose, we are truly beginning to live from our power.
Sunday, September 8: “An Experience of Oneness”
  • We talk a lot about Oneness, but today we will have an experience of Oneness in a new way and look at feeling that Oneness within our own souls. As we recognize our oneness with all life here on earth and beyond into the universe, from the minute, to the magnificent, we see that all power for good is already ours.
Sunday, September 15: “Our Wholly, Holy Worthiness”
  • Sometimes when we start living our passion and purpose and connect with our Oneness, old recordings can start trying to tell us we are not worthy of the life we are creating. Today we will start the process of replacing those voices with empowering ones as we find our Wholly, Holy Worthiness.
Sunday, September 22: “The Evolutionary Road”
  • Life is all about learning, growing, changing and evolving. However, there are times we get in a groove and want things to stay just as they are. Today we will look at how to go with the flow of change, instead of holding on to the “old” for dear life. From our beliefs, to our bodies, life is in a constant state of change, and when we learn to let go and let evolution to unfold, we step into another level of our power.
Sunday, September 29: “Let Our Radiant Light Shine”
  • When we are living with a purpose, with passion, with connection to our oneness with all, when we know that we are inherently worthy of all the good of the universe, when we are able to let go of the past and embrace the now, we step into the Radiant Light of the Divine that lives within us. Join us as we stand in our P.O.W.E.R. and let our Radiant Light shine!

August Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living August 2019

Theme: “Being Your Badass Self”

Inspired by the book “You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” by Jen Sincero

Now, that’s a title you might not expect to see as a sermon series, but since it’s been really hot outside, why not heat it up inside by pushing out the edges of our comfort zones with a little irreverence? Just think about the possibilities for your life if you were to push the edges of your personal comfort zone. What if you took the handbrakes off the ways in which you believe in yourself, in your ability to really shine your light, and in how you express your God-given talents? This month, we will explore what possibilities exist when you push those edges and see how awesome and badass we (and our lives) can actually be.

Sunday, August 4: “Take Off the Handbrakes of History”
  • We all grew up learning (and then believing) a lot of things that just weren’t true about ourselves. In fact, many of us today are living in an illusion based on someone else’s beliefs. Isn’t it time to unshackle ourselves from those illusions and start creating a badass future based not on our history but on our own brilliance? If you say “yes,” then today is for you!
Sunday, August 11: “Tap Into the Mother Lode of Good”
  • We each have access to unlimited resources, untapped potential, and unrealized awesomeness. We just need to know where to look for it. Today, we hit the Mother Lode because we start looking in the right places!
Sunday, August 18: “Get Over Yourself Already”
  • If you really want to shake things up and push the envelope right into your greatness, you just might have to get over a thing or two. You know, like taking everything – including yourself — so darn seriously! Let’s get over ourselves together today.
Sunday, August 25: “Time to Kick It in Gear”
  • What is possible for your life? Do you know that whatever your answer to that question is, there is one key factor that will make or break the chances of your achieving it? Well, there is, and today we will conclude our badass series not only by exploring it but by kicking it into gear.

Sunday, July 7: “What Does It Mean to Live Big?”
Resource: “Living Big” by Pam Grout
  • In “Living Big,” Pam Grout writes, “Living Big isn’t about making lots of money or having a Texas-sized house. It’s about having an intoxicating vision, about daring to look at the miracle of life without shrinking back. Living Big means having the nerve to find your own drumbeat, sing your own song.” Today, we bring that concept into our individual, personal lives as we think big, imagine big, and play big!
Sunday, July 14: “Moving Beyond Our Story”
Facilitated by David McCloud, RScP
  • David will be speaking on how to overcome our limiting thoughts and ideas that prevent us from “Living Big”.
Sunday, July 21: “Blessing and Dedication Services”
  • A barbeque dinner to follow our dedication services.
Sunday, July 28: “Universal Truths”
Resource: “The Universe Has Your Back” by Gabrielle Bernstein
  • In “The Universe Has Your Back,” Gabrielle Bernstein lays out a variety of Universal Truths that she presents in some unique ways. The Universal Truths we will explore today are: “You are Always Being Guided Even When It Doesn’t Feel Like It” and “The Universe Works Fast When You’re Having Fun.” So, come today and be deeply guided while having a bit of fun in the process. These Universal Truths also help us Live Big!

June Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living June 2019

Theme: “Steps on the Path of Transformation”

Resource: “The Third Jesus by Deepak Chopra”

In his profound book, The Third Jesus, Deepak Chopra writes: “Jesus asks us for personal transformation. Every step that brings us out of separation and closer to unity is valuable.” During the month of June, we will use Chopra’s book to view Jesus’ teachings as a roadmap for transformation by delving into Fifteen Steps to an awakened God Consciousness.

Sunday, June 2: “Steps on the Path Part I”
  • Today, we begin our exploration of Jesus’ roadmap for transformation by looking at the concepts behind his words of (1) the Kingdom of Heaven is within you; (2) my yoke is easy and my burden is light; and (3) being in the world but not of it.
Sunday, June 9: “Steps on the Path Part II”
  • Steps 4, 5, and 6 on our path of personal transformation delve into the ideas that we must (4) ask in order to receive; (5) forgive those who trespass against us; and (6) be still and know God.
Sunday, June 16: “Steps on the Path Part III”
  • Part III of our fifteen steps on the path focuses on the ideas that (7) as you sow, so shall you reap; (8) resist not evil; and (9) in my Father’s house are many mansions.
Sunday, June 23: “Steps on the Path Part IV”
  • Today’s steps help us to realize that (10) we are born from above; (11) we are the light of the world; and (12) we need not worry about tomorrow.
Sunday, June 30: “Steps on the Path Part V”
  • Today, we conclude our Fifteen Steps to God Consciousness by exploring these teachings of Jesus: (13) Abide in me as I abide in you; (14) where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them; and, finally, (15) what does it profit a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul?

May Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living May 2019

Theme: “The Architecture of Living”

We will spend the month of May exploring some pivotal ideas found in a book that may have gotten lost in the overflowing avalanche of terrific Metaphysical, New Thought books that have been written in the last decade. “The Architecture of All Abundance: Creating a Successful Life in the Material World” by Lenedra Carroll contains a blueprint for anyone yearning for a higher level of spiritual awareness coupled with material manifestation. Of it, Deepak Chopra wrote: “This work stands as a deep testament to the human spirit and the undeniable role of conscious intent in the evolution and transformation of humanity.” Join us this month as we examine and experience the spiritual concepts contained in “Architecture.” It will be a fascinating journey.

Sunday, May 5: “The Architecture of Stillness”
  • Building a life and building a physical structure have one very important thing in common: both must have solid foundations put down before anything else can be added. We build a solid foundation for our lives by going within. This morning, we access that place in us that informs all of life, that is the source of all creation, that is the answer before the question is even posed. And, we will access that place in a unique and powerful way. Come with us and take a deep dive into the architecture of stillness.
Sunday, May 12: (Mother’s Day) “The Architecture of a Mother’s Love”
  • Being completely enveloped in protection and surrounded by indescribably delicious unconditional love – these are experiences every human craves, whether we are a small child or a grown woman or man. Some of us may have received this from our earthly mothers, others may not have. This morning, we will all experience it in ways you may not expect!
Sunday, May 19: “The Architecture of Health”
  • Our beautiful Religious Science/New Thought teachings about health and vitality have two cornerstone tenets. The first is: “there is nothing to heal — only our innate perfection to reveal.” The second is: “our thinking profoundly affects our physical state of being.” Today, we build a healthy body by building on these tenets.
Sunday, May 26: “The Architecture of Abundance”
  • As we conclude our “Architecture of Living” theme, we focus on an area that remains a challenge for many individuals. That challenge is trusting that we live in the Flow of All Good and that we are always provided for. Using the author of our theme book as an example, we see how one simple awareness can change everything in an instant.

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living April 2019

Theme: “The Sacred Walk of Renewal and Resurrection”

At every moment of every day, we are experiencing the results of either our conditioned-based thinking or our Source-based living. This Easter Month, we will take a sacred walk into Source-based living, and each week, we will build upon the week before as we are renewed and resurrected in Spirit together.

Sunday, April 7: “Standing in Change”
  • The Master Teacher Jesus taught us profound lessons of Truth, the greatest of which was how to stand tall in the midst of life-altering change. This Easter month, we look to him as the prime example of one who rose anew from the most devastating change we can humanly think of, the loss of life.
Sunday, April 14: Palm Sunday – “Preparing the Way”
  • Every decision we make directs the course of our lives. Using the metaphor of three decisions Jesus made during those few days prior to his crucifixion, we will prepare the way for our first step in the renewal and resurrection of our consciousness.
Sunday, April 21: Easter Sunday – “Arise and Shine”
  • As we explore the metaphysics behind Jesus’ resurrection and ascension and look at a number of the profound teachings of this Spiritual Master, we are invited to arise and shine into our own unique Brilliance. Be sure to be with us today for a unique and utterly brilliant experience. And how about inviting a friend? Easter is a wonderful Sunday for that.
Sunday, April 28: “The Flow of Good”
  • We experience our Easter Moments in many different ways. However, the rubber often meets the road when we look at our financial status vis-à-vis our spiritual beliefs about abundance. We spiritually believe we live in an abundant universe and abundance is our spiritual birthright, yet we often struggle to make ends meet, let alone have an ongoing flow of abundant good to spend, to spare and to share.

March Meeting Schedule

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living March 2019

Theme: “What’s Luck Got to Do With It?”

In 1984, Tina Turner released a song that became an instant classic rock song entitled, “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” Spiritually, we could answer that by saying “Just about everything!” This month, we will take the same question, change just one word and ask, “What’s luck got to do with it?” Your immediate answer to that question may be, “Just about nothing!” But in this series, we will combine some fascinating scientific research with our powerful Religious Science principles to find that there’s more to living a lucky life than meets the eye.

Sunday, March 3, 2019 – “How to Luck Out”
  • “He really lucked out on that one!” is a phrase we often hear. And, of course, we hear it when a random happy coincidence has just occurred. What do scientific research and spiritual principles have to say about how we can “luck out”? Today we find out.
Sunday, March 10, 2019 – “The Luck of the Draw”
  • This common phrase is used to describe an outcome based on chance, over which we have no control—like drawing the short stick. But are we really at the mercy of the luck of the draw? Science, as well as spirituality, says we are not, but it takes a specific attitude coupled with precise activities to create our own luck of the draw.
Sunday, March 17, 2019 – “Lucky Charm” Special Music
  • On this day, St. Patrick’s Day, we will each discover our own personal Lucky Charm and learn how to use it quite effectively. And if you wear green to service today, you might just find yourself extra lucky.
Sunday, March 24, 2019 – “Don’t Push Your Luck”
  • Today, we complete our “What’s Luck Got To Do With It?” series not by looking at how we never need to “push our luck,” but rather at how we have access to that which will push us to our highest good.

February Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living February 2019

Theme: “On the Wings of L.O.V.E.”

It is a tradition in February to explore the topic of love, not just romantic love, but the Love of the Divine. Each week this month, we will explore different aspects of L.O.V.E.

Sunday, February 3: “Living in Light and Laughter”
  • Humor and lightness are gifts of God’s Love. Our ability to laugh in the midst of circumstances and have a light touch on life are indicators of our how much we are living into and from this Love. Today we shine our Light and Laughter in places that could use a big dose of God’s Love.
Sunday, February 10: “Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience”
  • In the religion of our childhood, we may have found the idea of God’s Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience a bit troubling. After all, who wanted an ever-present, all-powerful and all-seeing judge? But, if we look at God from the Science of Mind perspective, being surrounded by an ever-present, all-powerful and all-seeing Presence of Love is an entirely different story.
Sunday, February 17: “Vibrating with Vision and Vitality”
  • Love is one of the highest energetic vibrations there is. If we brought Love – Divine Love – to our visions, our hopes, and our dreams… think about the vitality they would have.
Thursday, January 27: “Enlightened Enthusiasm”
  • Enlightened enthusiasm. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be so deeply in touch with God’s Love that we felt enthusiasm in everyday events? There are several keys to creating a life of enlightened enthusiasm. Let’s explore the paths that allow us to do that.

January Schedule of Events

San Antonio Center For Spiritual Living January 2019

Theme: “Turning Point or Tipping Point?”

Resource: “E-Cubed” by Pam Grout

We have all heard of the idea of a “tipping point,” the moment at which there is enough critical mass for a major change to occur. But what about a “turning point”? A “turning point” is the moment of decision, the moment we individually or collectively decide to make a shift, to head in a different direction, to view things another way, and that decision results in a radically different outcome. Or said another way, a “turning point” can result in a different “tipping point.” This month, with the support of the strong foundation of our New Thought teachings, we will have personal turning point moments that will tip us in the direction of greater love, joy, peace and manifestation.

Sunday, January 6: “Laying the Ground Work”
  • As we explore the idea of “turning points” in our lives, today we anchor into foundational concepts that will send us in the direction of our individual and collective Good and even greater Good. This morning will lay the groundwork for our entire year, so be sure to be with us, and bring a friend or two!
Sunday, January 13: “Doing the Work”
  • “God can only work for us by working through us.” No truer words have ever been said! With the help of international bestselling author Pam Grout in her book “E Cubed,” this week and next, we will do some work to turn us in the direction of being who we came here to be and doing what we came here to do.
Sunday, January 20: “Continuing the Work”
  • Picking up where we left off last week, today we continue the work of creating turning points in the direction of being who we came here to be and doing what we came here to do.
Sunday, January 27: “Achieving the Miraculous”
  • American Physician and author Bernie Siegel once wrote, “We have nothing to lose by attempting to achieve the miraculous.” When we have made the turn to a more expansive view of ourselves, our possibilities and the role we play in the world, we will achieve the miraculous. Actually, we will be the miracle, so come be the miracle today!
